Every order channel on one screen

A family-run taqueria was losing Friday-night orders across phone slips and two delivery apps. Tableside put every order on one screen, and the line stopped stalling.

The Challenge

La Plaza takes orders four ways: at the counter, by phone, and through two delivery apps. On Friday nights the tickets lived on paper slips pinned to a rail, and whoever worked the rail had to remember which slip came from which channel.

Missed and duplicated orders were a weekly fight. The family trained every new hire by shadowing for a full week, because the process lived in people's heads instead of a system.

What They Did

  • Brought counter, phone, and both delivery channels into one Tableside order screen, so the kitchen works a single ticket rail.
  • Turned on QR table ordering for the patio, so the dining room orders without waiting on the counter line.
  • Set delivery zones and driver dispatch so orders leave in sequence instead of all at once.
  • Used the built-in training flow so new hires practice on the live menu, on the same screen they will work.

The Results

  • Peak-hour capacity is up about 30% with the same kitchen staff.
  • The Friday-night slip rail is gone, and missed tickets effectively stopped.
  • New hires go from first shift to working solo in two days instead of a week.

My mother ran this place on memory and paper tickets for twenty years. Now the screen keeps the pace, and my family eats dinner together again.
